blessings.

this journey has been so amazing. I just want to say thank you to everyone who followed me, read my posts and sent me sweet messages. its been encouraging and has really inspired growth. as we approach Easter I hope we can look to the cross and try to understand that while we were and are still so unworthy, Jesus died for you and for me. he wants to be in relationship with you constantly. its not easy to die to yourself and start living for Christ, but I know it will be worth it. you’re all a blessing and id love to keep blogging so if you have any ideas for what I should continue with please throw them out there! :) have a wonderful Easter! God is good!

DAY 100!!! Fear controls a lot of people’s lives. We live in constant fear of so many things. Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of the future. Fear of not being good enough, pretty enough, smart enough. Guess what…God did not give us a spirit of timidity! He doesn’t want this for us. He wants us to stop giving the devil a foothold on our lives! Imagine what we could do if we REALLY let the Spirit lead us. We would feel the power of God in us, be able to love like Jesus loved and have the discipline to live as Jesus lived. I know that as Christians it’s what we desire, but are you really letting the Spirit lead you? I know I too often let fear get in the way of living. I’m scared of a lot, but it is so reassuring to remember that His power works best in weakness. We don’t have to be perfect! Ask God to help you face your fears. Invite Him into those places so that you can move forward. Imagine how wonderful it would feel to be free :)

This verse is tough for me to figure out on it’s own, but as a whole this chapter discusses the Messiah, Jesus, who would suffer for all the sins of the world. It seems crazy that God would choose to save the world through a humble, suffering servant rather than a mighty king. Jesus covered our weakness and carried our sorrows to the cross. Thank you God for sending your son. I am constantly in awe of Him.

The great C.S. Lewis wrote, “Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.” We’re all going to die. That is inevitable. I think people fear death, and rightfully so. I won’t deny that dying is a scary thing to think about. At any minute, second, hour your life could be over…and then what? I think that’s probably one of the most common questions about life. What happens after you die? I can’t tell you for certain, but I do know that if you believe in and accept Jesus into your heart even when you die, you will live. Heaven is a place I think of often. A place where all will be as God intended it to be. I can’t imagine how great, but I know that that’s where I want to end up. I live my life accordingly. No regrets. If I were to die today, I know I’d be okay because I’d be going home.

You have to make a conscious decision to choose God. He gave us the power to dismiss Him, reject Him, refuse Him. He gave us a will of our own. Why? I think love is the reason. If you want love to be real, you have to have the power to choose. You must do more than simply believe He exists, even the devil believes that much. God wants a relationship based off faith. Something personal. Meaningful. Real. He wants to be sought after and pursued. Whether you know Him or not, He’s been pursuing you all your life. It’s time you slowed down and get to know your maker. He is SO good and believe it or not, He couldn’t love you more than HE LOVES YOU…right now.

There are certain things that are bound to give you faith. Hearing about a sick friend or family member who was miraculously healed…opening up Jesus Calling in the morning and feeling like God is literally speaking to YOUR heart…receiving prayer from a stranger and knowing God is speaking through them because they’re praying for exactly what you need…going to church on Sunday and hearing the message, the message that comes from the word of God. Tonight at church God spoke. He used the woman who taught tonight to tell His story and my faith was strengthened. I was reminded of how much God REALLY loves me. How much he wants me to make Him my king. How gracious He is when in reality, I’m trying to make him my servant. It’s not easy to surrender everything. It’s not easy to give up control. We are to love others the way that Jesus loved us. I think when people read this they might take it literally, but there are other ways to practice sacrificial love: listening, helping, supporting, giving. Being a good friend, family member and witness is so important. If you know God and you desire to follow Him the best you can, you might be the only bible someone ever reads. That inspires me to want to be a better friend/sister/daughter/granddaughter/cousin/niece/stranger. I pray that God would shine through me at all times. I want people to look at me and know that something is different. I want to look at people and see them through His eyes. No one is undeserving of the love of God.

“While we were still sinners…” What amazing words those are. God sent His son Jesus Christ to die for us and our sins, not because we were good enough but because HE LOVES US. If you ever doubt His love (I know I do) always remember that He chose you and loved you before you even came to know Him. What a blessing it is to be loved by such an AWESOME God. I hope to never forget this as I’m going through my days. When I’m feeling low, I pray that His love would always lift me up.

I simply believe that Jesus meant what he said here. Sometimes if you try and dig too deep you get lost in what this or that could mean. Jesus states that He is the way into Heaven. He is the truth to be heard. He has life to give. Without Him you’re not really living. Develop a relationship with Jesus, I promise you it will be worth it…now and in the long run.
